Kim Richards’ Ex-Husband Dishes On Her Stay In Rehab

« | Home

December 20, 2011 06:13 PM by Megan Thompson

Earlier this month we learned that Bravo star, Kim Richards, checked herself into rehab. Fans of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills weren’t too shocked by the news, since Kim’s behavior on the show was often questionable.  Now Kim Richards’ ex-husband, Monty Brinson, is talking about why Kim finally sought out treatment.  Keep reading for the latest scoop.

Kim’s behavior on this season’s RHOBH often left viewers wondering if she was drinking again.  Who can forget the drama of game night at Dana’s house?  Kim showed up to the party rather out of it and then continued to spend half the night in the bathroom.  Brandi Glanville, the new girl, wasn’t going to let Kim’s behavior go unnoticed.  Brandi accused Kim of doing crystal meth in the bathroom, which caused a huge rift between the two.  On last night’s episode, Brandi just let Kim yell at her without retaliating. In an off-camera interview Brandi shared that she felt sorry for Kim, because it was pretty obvious she has emotional and substance abuse issues.

Well it seems Brandi was right, because earlier this month Kim Richards checked into rehab.  Monty Brinson, Kim’s ex-husband, spoke with Life & Style to let the public know how Kim is handling treatment.  One of the reasons Kim entered rehab was she realized how precious life was after Russell Armstrong, Taylor’s estranged husband, committed suicide.  According to Monty, “it was a wake-up call for Kim.” Another huge motivator for Kim to get healthy was her children and her family. And it seems that rehab is agreeing with Kim.  “Kim’s the happiest she’s been in a very long time.  She’s ready to start a new life when she gets out,” Monty told the magazine.
