Hell’s Kitchen on Fox is back for one last night as it’s the season nine finale. Who will what it takes to impress Gordon Ramsay enough to be crowned the season nine winner? If you think you know who won, you may want to rethink that! Read on for all the details!

The Hell’s Kitchen season nine finale kicked off tonight with the usual gloating by Elise about how she was still there – big shocker, huh? Then Gordon Ramsay announced that the final four would be facing their most inspiring challenge yet, and then he surprised them all with their families. This challenge was a taste it, then make it challenge. The contestants each took a taste of Gordon Ramsay’s dish and then try to recreate it. The winner would get the day with their loved ones.

During the challenge, Elise seemed so unsure of what the dish was, that she had to watch what the guys were using. Tommy and Will used monkfish, while Elise used halibut and Paul chose cod. All four of them chose identical garnish, but while the other three wrapped their fish with prosciutto, Tommy decided to wrap his with serrano ham. After tasting the dishes, Gordon eliminated Tommy first as the serrano ham was not correct, but who had the correct fish? Paul did! Paul was the only one who chose the cod, so he got to spend the day with his brother.

When Gordon announced that it was moving day in Hell’s Kitchen for the other three, Elise broke down in tears – oh the drama! Dinner service that night required each chef to show Gordon Ramsay their leadership skills, as he announced that two chefs would be headed home after the service. Each of the chefs had their own issues running the pass – Elise and Paul missed some quality tests, while Will was tough, but struggled with his team listening to him. Tommy, however, seemed to be a flake and all over the place. Personally, I think Will did the best job, but it was all up to Chef Ramsay at this point.

When it time for elimination, Gordon Ramsay asked that they all come up with a reason as to why they deserved to be in the finale. When they returned, Gordon announced that the first chef leaving Hell’s Kitchen was not surprisingly Tommy. While Gordon Ramsay said that he finally started to understand Tommy, Tommy was not ready for the job. Then Gordon Ramsay announced that the first person heading the finale was Will!

Next Gordon said that the next finalist had an edge in running a kitchen, and that they would not back down. After hearing that, we could see Paul whisper something to the effect of “oh shit” as he thought he would be headed home. Gordon Ramsay however, gave us all the moment we were waiting for as he announced that Elise was going home, and Paul was headed to the finale! Finally!

In the second half of the season nine finale of Hell’s Kitchen, it was the battle of Will versus Paul, and Gordon Ramsay started by asking the chefs to go up the dorm and work on their menus. Then Gordon told them he was taking them out to dinner, but in a surprise twist walked them both straight into their finale challenge. This time, Will and Paul had to create 5 stunning dishes to impress 5 judges from BLT Steak. As usual, they were tied by the fourth dish, and the final dish was being judged by the president of BLT Steak. With both filet dishes on the line, the president of BLT Steak declared Will the winner of the challenge.

When Will and Paul arrived back at Hell’s Kitchen, they were greeted by a huge present. Literally, when they opened the huge box, out walked the former contestants, Elise included. Ugh, just when we thought we were rid of her. Will had the first choice since he won, and that first choice ended up giving him a bigger advantage than he realized at first. Will started with Tommy, Natalie, and Jennifer, while Paul chose Elise, Elizabeth, and Jonathon. With only Carrie and Krupa left, Will decided to make a smart move for his team and went with Krupa, which sent Carrie to Paul’s team – remember the drama between Carrie and Elise?

Paul was not having it though, as he warned both Elise and Carrie that if they started any crap, he would be rid of them. But when Gordon Ramsay did a quick check of their menus, he was impressed by Will’s and disappointed in Paul’s, claiming that it needed work. In an emotional moment, Paul walks out and begins to tear up about how he promised his mother, who passed away a few months before he started Hell’s Kitchen that he would get on the show and win. Paul pleaded with his team about helping him do this in honor of his mother, and they agreed, but would it last once Elise and Carrie got together in the kitchen?

During service, Will’s team was off to a strong start with Natalie on appetizers, while Elizabeth and Elise were both messing up on Paul’s side. Elise quickly came back though and decided that she would be standing up for Paul – for once she was being reasonable. Krupa then started to struggle on Will’s team, while Jonathon could not get any decent meat out for Paul’s team, until finally Paul had enough and put Elise on the meat. Then we watched as Will had his first dish come back for being undercooked – no surprise that Krupa cooked it…maybe Krupa was not such a smart decision after all?

Finally, Will decided he needed to take Krupa off her fish station, as she was replaced by Natalie. What a disaster the night was turning out to be for both Will and Paul! In the end, both teams finally pulled together and got all the dishes out. Gordon Ramsay was then off to go through all the comment cards and make his decision. Hmm, did anyone else notice that we saw no restaurant’s for the chefs this time around? Then, both Will and Paul headed to the doors to see which one would open. After what seemed like an eternity, it was revealed that Paul was the season nine winner of Hell’s Kitchen!
