N-Dubz’s inimitable star Dappy and rapper Tinchy Stryder are revealed today as the backstage presenters of this year’s MOBO Awards in association with Lebara Mobile which will be returning to Glasgow’s SECC on 5th October.

Having worked together on chart-topping tracks including Number One, they will team up as a double act once again as they go behind-the-scenes in search of news and gossip to bring fans closer than ever to the stars of the show. Their backstage antics will be broadcast on the big screens inside Glasgow’s SECC on the night. The duo will also take to the stage with a medley including their recent hit Spaceship, which is nominated for Best Video.

Dappy, who has performed on the MOBO stage in previous years with band mates Tulisa and Fazer, comments: “I’m really looking forward to the MOBO Awards as always! Me and my man Tinchy backstage are gonna take over. And wow we’ve been nominated again? N-Dubz have 4 Awards already, we’re the grandfathers of MOBO! I love the MOBO Awards, it has changed our lives.”

Meanwhile, previous MOBO award winner Alesha Dixon is revealed as the co-host of the main show. The Boy Does Nothing singer who also co-hosted the show in Liverpool last year, will join R’n’B American superstar Jason Derulo to introduce a stellar line-up of live performances including Wretch 32.

The grime rapper will take the stage on 5th October to perform a medley of his biggest tracks, including his first number one hit Don’t’ Go. It looks set to be a big night for the rapper, who as well as performing is also nominated for four awards, including Best Newcomer in association with Lebara Mobile, Best UK Hip Hop / Grime Act and Best Song in association with PRS for Music for his debut single Traktor. Wretch 32 will also face some stiff competition in the Best UK Act in association with Capital FM category, not in the least from N’Dubz.

Co-host Alesha Dixon comments: “I am really excited to be co-hosting the Mobo’s once again. We have so many exciting artists nominated and performing and I know Glasgow will give everyone a massive welcome. It’s a city that loves to party and really appreciates great music.”

Whilst four-time MOBO nominee Wretch 32 comments: “I’ve got a lot of respect for MOBO and feel honoured to be playing at the Awards this year – I’ve always watched the show at home but never thought I’d actually be performing on it. I feel so honoured to have received four nominations and recognised as an artist. I’m eager to get on stage so Glasgow better be ready for Wretch!”

Dappy, Tinchy and Wretch 32 join an already stellar line-up of performers who are poised to set the MOBO stage alight. Co-host Jason Derulo will be showing off his impressive moves with an exclusive performance, as well as R’n’B heavyweights Boyz II Men, soul sensation Jessie J, UK Dubstep star Katy B and American R’n’B princess Alexis Jordan.

MOBO is also shaking up the voting system this year by hosting one category exclusively on Facebook where fans can cast their vote as often as once a day for the Best Newcomer in association with Lebara Mobile on www.facebook.com/moboofficial to ensure their favourite artist takes the title. The ten nominees in this category are watching their numbers go up and are asking for their fans’ support. (Other categories are voted for via www.mobo.com – all categories are voted for by the public).

MOBO CEO and founder Kanya King comments: “This year’s show is shaping up to be one of our best yet and there’s even more to be announced shortly. We’re very pleased to have Alesha back with us in Glasgow to host with Jason Derulo – they will make a very dynamic pair! Dappy and Tinchy are sure to make an interesting double act too – we look forward to seeing their backstage antics beamed onto the big screens in the SECC.”
