With just129 days until the festive season, Barneys have already begun working on a brand new treat for us this Christmas, that’s sure to be hard to beat by other brand competetors. This winter, the iconic American department store will be hosting a Holiday Workshop fronted by the one and only Lady Gaga, after having recently been working with the likes of Nicola Formichetti (most widely known as the new creative director for the French fashion house Mugler), Eli Sudbrack and Hamaide Piersen – the artists behind Vivid Astro Focus.
As of November, an entire floor of the Madison Avenue flagship store will be dedicated to the award winning star, with the website and ever-famous Barney’s windows also following suit. In a recent press release Barneys CEO Mark Lee said, “Partnering with her in this unprecedented collaborative way to create the largest and most all-encompassing holiday theme that Barneys has ever mounted is a thrill. As a New York City landmark, we wanted to celebrate Lady Gaga as a fellow New Yorker and amazing talent.”
The store will be donating 25% of the workshop’s profits to a charity of Lady Gaga’s choice.
What’s your opinion on this bold move from Barneys?
