The newly single Jennifer Lopez celebrated her 42nd birthday in Miami this past weekend.  Keep reading to find out who was with Ms. Lopez as she blew out the candles.

We have all heard by now that the American Idol judge, Jennifer Lopez and her husband of seven years, Marc Anthony ended their marriage.  So did Jennifer have a somber birthday party for herself?  Think again!  This hot mama knows how to bounce back from hard times – look good and surround yourself with great friends!

This past weekend Jennifer and 16 of her friends, including her mom, sister, manager and stylist hit Miami to celebrate the star’s birthday.  Of course, Jennifer indulged in some retail therapy, as she spent the day shopping the stores just north of South Beach.  She shopped for herself and her adorable three year-old twins, Max and Emme.

On Saturday night the adults hit the hot spot restaurant, Scarpetta for a lavish meal.  The group enjoyed an ocean view and dined on authentic Italian cuisine.  A source told People about her birthday dessert, “And when they brought out her birthday cake after the meal, she began to sing.  She was very happy.  The whole group had a blast….they closed down the restaurant.”

Was this more than a birthday celebration, perhaps a freedom party?  Whatever the reason for celebration, we are happy that Jennifer is moving on in a positive way.  Jennifer is 42 and still fabulous!

How to make: A fashionable cake

The Stella McCartney ‘fruit print’ has become one of the most iconic patterns for the season, with high street brands such as Zara following suit. However, the look can be fairly difficult to pull off unless you’re a stick thin model, so we’ve found a way to get your fashion fix and your hunger fix for a fraction of the cost of a real Stella. Courtesy of Apollinas. Ingredients: Directions Heat oven to 350°F. Butter two 8?, 9? or 10? round cake pans, line the bottoms with greaseproof paper, butter again, and dust with flour, tapping out the excess. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.Using an electric mix, beat the butter and sugar on medium-high until fluffy – this will take around 2 to 3 minutes.  Mix in the grated zest of the oranges and lemons.  Beat in the vanilla, then the eggs one at a time.Reduce mixer speed to low.
