Jason Gardiner, Freddie Flintoff, Donal MacIntyre and Joe Pasquale will all face a gruelling wilderness trek, for upcoming reality TV show ‘Alone In The Wild.

The Danncing On Ice judge and fellow celebrities will take part in the Discovery Channel series, in which they will be resposible for foraging for their own food, shelter and water with no outside help from production staff.

The famous faces will also be joined by stars including Chris Ryan, Aron Ralston, Amy Williams and Tanya Streeter, when they take off for Botswana, Guyana and Belize to confront their innermost fears.

Despite admitting the experience was an “amazing adventure”, Donal explained he is in no rush to return to the wilderness of the South American jungle.

He told BANG Showbiz: “Being alone, hungry and scared for a week was not what I envisaged and I wouldn’t be in a hurry to do it again. Having said that it was an amazing adventure and tested me in ways I could not have imagined.”

The contestants were all well trained before leaving and embarking on their experience and each received extensive survival training from local experts to prepare them for the challenge.

Dan Korn, head of programming for Discovery Networks UK and Europe, said: “‘Alone in the Wild’ is a new survival show that Discovery commissioned to explore how people react to being isolated in solitary and potentially hazardous environments.

“Using well known personalities from different fields; adventurers, sports people, comics and TV presenters gives us a breadth of experiences in this fascinating social experiment.”
‘Alone in the Wild’ will be shown on the Discovery Channel this autumn.

How to make: A fashionable cake

The Stella McCartney ‘fruit print’ has become one of the most iconic patterns for the season, with high street brands such as Zara following suit. However, the look can be fairly difficult to pull off unless you’re a stick thin model, so we’ve found a way to get your fashion fix and your hunger fix for a fraction of the cost of a real Stella.
