August 22nd, 2011 by Sarah. No comments

In upcoming episodes of Emmerdale, Declan Macey (Jason Merrells) is about to hear a bombshell from his estranged wife Ella (Corrinne Wicks)…

She’ll tell him that Mia (Sapphire Elia) isn’t his daughter, and is in fact his best friend Jai’s (Chris Bisson) child.

The revelation comes after Ella’s fling with Mia’s boyfriend Adam (Adam Thomas) finally comes out into the open next week…

Ella will tell Declan he isn’t Mia’s dad when he orders her to leave the village, presenting her with a one way ticket to Singapore.

The PA reports that Merrells said of the storyline, “He is gutted. Terribly, terribly hurt but he buries it because he’s not great at understanding his own emotions.

“So he becomes a bit manic but it affects him very deeply.”

Apparently, Declan is so distressed at the news, he has to send Mia away.

Jason said, “He can’t bare to look at her, he can’t do the whole dad thing, it’s too raw and too soon and I think he needs to buy himself space.

“And also the longer she’s there the more likely that Jai and [his brother] Nikhil will say something.

“He wants to keep it from her. He doesn’t think that she should be told anything.

“He doesn’t want Jai involved and he doesn’t want Mia to ever know that he’s not her father and at the same time he can’t really deal with being there with her.

“It totally changes things…

“On paper he wants to be the enlightened human being who would say, ‘Look it doesn’t matter, I’m your dad I brought you up’.

“At the same time he can’t quite look at her without seeing all that. Seeing Jai in her face really. So he finds it really difficult.”

How to make: A fashionable cake

The Stella McCartney ‘fruit print’ has become one of the most iconic patterns for the season, with high street brands such as Zara following suit. However, the look can be fairly difficult to pull off unless you’re a stick thin model, so we’ve found a way to get your fashion fix and your hunger fix for a fraction of the cost of a real Stella. Courtesy of Apollinas. Ingredients: Directions Heat oven to 350°F. Butter two 8?, 9? or 10? round cake pans, line the bottoms with greaseproof paper, butter again, and dust with flour, tapping out the excess.
