Many Glee fans were devastated last week, when it was revealed that Chord Overstreet would not be back as a series regular on season three.
The hunky blonde actor of course plays Sam Evans on the hit musical TV show, but while Darren Criss and Harry Shum Jr were picked up for full time roles, it looked very much like viewers had seen the last of the big lipped singer.
However, TV Line has reported that this is NOT the case.
A source told them that bosses are keen to bring Sam back, saying:
“His option to be a series regular was just not picked up at this time. If Chord wants to appear on Glee, the choice is his. The Glee writers like his Sam character, and have plans to write for him. He and his reps have been told that he is welcome back to Glee, and everyone hopes he will show up on August 10 when filming begins.”
The comment seems a little odd to us, after all, if they were that keen to have Chord back, why not just add him as a series regular as they did with other cast members?
The source went on to add that if Chord enjoyed a ‘good season’ during the third run, he was “likely” to get the promotion next year.
Do you think Chord will return for filming this August? Would you like to see him in season three? Leave your comments below.
