“So much talent, and so few spots.” Which acts will be moving on to Hollywood in the hit NBC reality competition? Find out everything you missed in tonight’s episode of America’s Got Talent after the jump!
Vegas Week continues! After last night’s show, there are only 17 remaining spots, so which of the standby acts will make the cut?
The first group vying for one of the coveted spots is the Magicians. After a couple of traditional (read: corny) acts, 26-year-old Alaska native, Landon Swank takes the stage. His L.A. audition blew the judges away, but will he be able to bring it for Vegas Week? Oh yes, “it” has been brought! And once again, Swank leaves the judges bewildered — in a good way — and his competitors, like Seth Grabel, quite concerned about their own chances.
Seth knows that he’s got to up his game to be able to compete with Landon, but even with all of the flash and flips, the judges are able to notice a “hiccup” in his act. Apparently, one of his assistants put a cube in the wrong spot. But will the misplaced cube cost Seth his own spot in the competition?
It’s time for the Kids to take the stage. The first tot to perform is 6-year-old Tanner Edwards, aka “Lil’ T.” Once again, the lil’ guy has Sharon Osbourne (and a few of his female competitors) swooning, but are his moves enough to put together an actual show?
Next, it’s the fourth grade all-girl group — Avery & Calico Hearts. After their performance of “It’s Your Thing,” Howie Mandel is ready to give them their own show, but Piers Morgan doesn’t seem to agree.
After a few other talented kids, 11-year-old Anna Graceman is back singing Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep.” She’s a little rocky on the keyboard, but still delivers a powerful vocal performance. The judges agree that she’s got talent, but they’re concerned about whether or not she’ll be able to compete with older acts further down the line.
Now it’s time for the Danger Acts! Fire eaters, flame throwers, acts where women are holding fire while being held on a thin balance beam and being thrown into the air… Then there are the boys with the dirt bikes that again have Sharon Osbourne so nervous that she can hardly stand to watch.
Hopefully the Dance category proves to be less traumatic for her. There’s some stiff competition, but one performer is pretty confident — Sam B., the one man dance sensation who gives “1,000%” of himself on the stage. His performance leaves him breathless, and probably a little sore, and he’s definitely entertaining, but we’re not so sure that it’s talent that he has, and the judges aren’t either.
With the Dancers done, it’s now time for the Novelty Acts. Again, Leonid The Magnificent is hitting the stage — literally. But by the end, we’re still wondering what, where, why, and how? Sharon is entertained though, and continues to be entertained by the remaining acts; especially when the two older gentlemen take the stage.
The two men don’t fail to amuse the judges, as one plays the piano and the other does an acrobat act in a chair, but we’re not sure they’re going to make it through when they get a phone call in the middle of their performance!
The final standby acts auditioning tonight are the male singers. First up is 19-year-old Dilan Andre. There are a variety of singing styles in this category, but 33-year-old Mauricio is in a style and category of his own.
Last, but certainly not least, is Daniel Joseph Baker. He’s not so sure that he’ll make it through, but the judges seem to agree that he’s got something special. Will it be special enough for him to make it to Hollywood?
With Day 2 performances over, the judges have some tough decisions ahead of them. So which acts will be heading to Hollywood?
After deliberating, the judges have decided which standby acts will fill the remaining spots in the Top 48: 2 Danger acts, a group of rapping kids, Avery & Calico Hearts, another child singer, Anna Graceman, Seth Grabel, Landon Swank, 2 novelty acts, Sam B., 2 dance groups, Daniel Joseph Baker, Dilan Andre, and Mauricio.
Next week, the first 12 perform LIVE in Hollywood!
