Oxygen’s new shows, The World According To Paris, starts tonight and fans of Paris Hilton can not wait!  Paris is not going to be alone on her new show.  Her BFF, Allison Melnick, is going to be starring right along side her.  If you are like us, then you do not know much about Allison Melnick.  We thought we would introduce you.  Keep reading to find out everything you could possibly want to know!

Question: Congrats on the new show: The World According to Paris. You’ve earned a prestigious reputation as a nightlife fixture on the LA social scene but tell us how you became LA’s #1 club kid?

Allison’s answer: Thank you! I started working at clubs as a door girl when I was 16 in NYC and turned it into a career for myself. Yes partying is a career haha. I always had an obsession with the 70's and the culture of the night while growing up in NY at that time. I lived vicariously as a kid through the fashion, music, love disco and classic rock but most of all the clubs CBGB’s and Studio 54. I saw “Saturday Night Fever” when I was 7yrs old for the first time and the rest is history. I wanted to be a “party girl”! I moved out to LA after September 11th happened and immediately started working all the doors for Brent Bolthouse’s amazing parties and traveling from city to city with his company. In 2002 I created my infamous Tuesday night party at Nacional which had an amazing 4 year run. I also starred in my first reality show in 2003 on Spike TV called “The Club”. After working all the fun parties with Bolthouse I signed with SBE for a few years and worked with them. In 2008 I opened my first restaurant/lounge “Apple” on Robertson Blvd ; I named it after NY “The Big Apple”. Right now I am promoting parties three nights a week at different clubs in Los Angeles; Hemingways, Roxbury and Lexington Social House. I start promoting a new club in Chicago called The Board Room on Tuesday nights in June. I have a lot on my plate right now but would like to travel again to different cities this summer and throw parties while promoting my new “The World According to Paris”. I will definitely open another lounge in Los Angles in the next year or so.

Question: The World According to Paris (TWAP) premieres June 1st on Oxygen. Tell us about the show and the role you play on screen.

Allison’s answer: On our new show I’m definitely a “Samantha” (Sex and the City) single and no kids. I’m one of Paris’ oldest best friends – for about 17 yrs now. I’m the party girl on the show; I have no filter and speak my mind. Watch out for episode #3, our Vegas trip, there is some major drama with me.

Question: What can America expect from TWAP? What will you girls be doing on the show?

Allison’s answer: You can expect lots of relationship talk, traveling, tears. You will get an all access look into our careers and some good arguments here and there. We are only human and have problems and struggles like everyone else; we don’t hold anything back on the show.

Question: You’ve been close friends co-star Paris Hilton for many years, how is it now working with your BFF on a regular basis?

Allison’s answer: I absolutely loved working with Paris and Kathy Hilton, Jennifer Rovero and Brooke Mueller! They are my family and you will get an all access look into our crazy lives.

Question: With tabloids targeting BFF’s and a career as an infamous nightlife fixture, you’ve probably seen just about everything. Do you think you’re ready for what’s to come with price of fame?

Allison’s answer: The cameras were always rolling. I’m so excited to see what happens with the show and I’m ready for a crazy summer with the girls. This is my second reality show so I know what comes along with it and I’m ready for anything. I’m so thankful to have a friend like Paris in my life, she is by far the funniest, most loving and loyal girl I know.

Question: Tell us one thing America may not know about Allison Melnick.

Allison’s answer: One thing you don’t know about me hhhmmm …I’m a party girl who can’t dance haha xx

How to make: A fashionable cake

The Stella McCartney ‘fruit print’ has become one of the most iconic patterns for the season, with high street brands such as Zara following suit. However, the look can be fairly difficult to pull off unless you’re a stick thin model, so we’ve found a way to get your fashion fix and your hunger fix for a fraction of the cost of a real Stella. Butter two 8?, 9? or 10? round cake pans, line the bottoms with greaseproof paper, butter again, and dust with flour, tapping out the excess. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.Using an electric mix, beat the butter and sugar on medium-high until fluffy – this will take around 2 to 3 minutes.  Mix in the grated zest of the oranges and lemons.  Beat in the vanilla, then the eggs one at a time.Reduce mixer speed to low.
