The Real Housewives of Miami: Marysol Patton and Mom, Elsa’s DUI Arrests

Bravo’s bringing the heat with the newest group of Housewives! But one of the cast members of the Real Housewives of Miami got her face time a little early– in the form of a mug shot. It’s being reported that Public Relations powerhouse Marysol Patton, and her mother, Elsa Carreras Patton were both arrested for DUIs in Miami last year! Did Bravo know about the charges before Marysol Patton was cast for the show?

Bravo’s newest installment of the Housewives franchise, The Real Housewives of Miami (formerly known as Miami Social Club) premiered this Tuesday (February 22), but one of the stars of the hot new show is already making headlines– along with her mother.

According to records at the Florida State’s Attorney’s Office, Marysol Patton, owner of one of the most sought after public relations firms in Miami, was arrested for driving under the influence in January 2010.

The 44-year-old Miami resident ended up pleading guilty to a lesser charge– Reckless Driving– and paid a $1,000 fine and $581 in court costs in the case that was finalized just months ago. $1, 581…. We’re sure that’s just a drop in the bucket for the new Housewife!

Patton’s mother, who will also be making many appearances on the Bravo series, was also arrested by Miami police that same year– and yes, also for driving under the influence.

Elsa Carreras Patton, 76, a self-proclaimed “seer,” got off a little easier than her daughter. According to a source, her case was later dismissed because the arresting officer failed to show up in court to testify against her.

Think Elsa Carreras Patton saw that one coming?

Bravo execs have not yet responded to news of Marysol Patton’s past DUI… or her mother’s.

The Real Housewives of Miami airs Tuesdays at 10|9c on Bravo.

How to make: A fashionable cake

The Stella McCartney ‘fruit print’ has become one of the most iconic patterns for the season, with high street brands such as Zara following suit. However, the look can be fairly difficult to pull off unless you’re a stick thin model, so we’ve found a way to get your fashion fix and your hunger fix for a fraction of the cost of a real Stella. Courtesy of Apollinas. Ingredients: Directions Heat oven to 350°F. Butter two 8?, 9? or 10? round cake pans, line the bottoms with greaseproof paper, butter again, and dust with flour, tapping out the excess. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.Using an electric mix, beat the butter and sugar on medium-high until fluffy – this will take around 2 to 3 minutes.  Mix in the grated zest of the oranges and lemons.  Beat in the vanilla, then the eggs one at a time.Reduce mixer speed to low.
