American Idol: What Should The Top Two Perform In The Finale?

American Idol on FOX is keeping the finale performances for the top two tightly under wraps, despite leaks of the performances on Wednesday. Now we want to know what you’d like to hear Lauren and Scotty perform tonight! Read on for more…

American Idol’s finale is sure to be jam packed with Country tunes coming from two slightly different styles, but what do you think that Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina should perform tonight? We’ve seen them both perform the tunes of many different artists this season – both Country and other genres. Should they stick with Country tunes or open up to other genres?

Lauren has taken on so many big name artists this season such as Faith Hill, Melissa Etheridge, Martina McBride, The Supremes and Miley Cyrus just to name a few, but who should she tackle in the finale? I personally love when Lauren opens up and shows her fun side and I would love to see her take on some Sugarland, or maybe Miranda Lambert, but definitely something upbeat and fun – we all know she can blow the ballads away. What do you think she should do in the finale, and who would you like to see her paired up with?

We’ve also watched as Scotty has tackled some big names such as Stevie Wonder, Elton John and of course Josh Turner, but does he really need to perform “Your Man” in the finale? That seems to be what most folks want him to take on this week, and I think a lot of people are also assuming he would be paired up with Josh Turner. I would love to see him tackle something different like Dierks Bentley or Jason Aldean. Of course every time I hear “Tomorrow” by Chris Young I can’t help but think that Scotty would rock that song also – what about you? What would you like to see Scotty take on tonight and why?
