It’s no secret that American Idol on FOX‘s season ten country boy Scotty McCreery is a huge Josh Turner fan and has even been compared to the country music star. Josh Turner has recently revealed that he is rooting for Scotty McCreery on the show and these two actually had a chance to meet – so what happened when they did? You’ll have to keep reading for all the details!

American Idol’s Scotty McCreery has not been shy about his admiration for country star Josh Turner, and recently Scotty had the chance to meet Josh. When MTV news caught up with Scotty McCreery he revealed that “I actually met him the day I auditioned for the show at a meet and greet. He sent me a message today, and he just told me he was rooting for me and that he was proud of me. So that meant a lot to me.” Wow, I can certainly see why that would mean a lot to Scotty.

Meanwhile, a country news reporter had the chance to catch up with Josh Turner who had nothing but good things to say about Scotty McCreery as he was quoted “Scotty seems to be a smart guy, and he’s got his head on straight. And he seems like he’s got a great heart” and then he goes on to add “Back when I was that age, I wanted to sing nothing but Randy Travis songs. But it took that for me to figure out who I was. I think he’s farther along at that age than I was.”

Scotty goes on to reveal that while he loves his country music, he also wants to keep us viewers guessing each week as he told MTV news “I want to stay true to myself and sing country. But I’ll switch it up here and there, give America something different. We’ll see where that goes.” He also suggested that he may sing something by Tim McGraw as well Taylor Swift on the show. Guess we’ll have to tune in to see what Scotty surprises us with next!
