The time has come for aspiring singers and vocal groups to audition for Simon Cowell’s new show, X Factor. Auditions begin on March 27th for a fall debut. To find out more about the show, what the grand prize will be and where you can audition keep reading!
On March 27th the X Factor auditions will begin in Los Angeles, CA. Other cities that will be hosting auditions include Chicago, Dallas, Miami, New York/New Jersey and Seattle. Singles and groups who think they have great vocals and audition to be on the show and win the grand prize of a $5 Million dollar Sony recording contract. Why so young with American Idol, a similar singing competition, starts at the age of 15?
‘”I like the idea that a 12-year-old on this show can compete with an older singer and a singing group,” says Simon Cowell. “I’ve never believed there should be a cut-off age for talent, and we are going to put our money where our mouths are with the $5 million recording contract. I’m doing this show in America because I genuinely believe we can find a superstar.”
No word yet on who will be the judges and host, and when the premiere date will be. Those announcements should coming in the next few weeks. With the X Factor being such a hit in other parts of the world, and Simon Cowell having a hand in it, chances are whoever the host and judges are, the show will be a huge success in America.
