Top Chef Just Desserts Picked Up For Second Season

« | Home | »

February 7, 2011 11:00:20 by Christine McDow

Bravo announced this week that the sweet counter part to Top Chef and TCM, Top Chef Just Desserts, will be back for a second season!  This is great news.  Who doesn’t love chocolate, and cake, and chocolate, and pies, and chocolate…

It will be summer time at least however before the show is back on the air.  The first open casting call for this sweet show is February 27th.  The last is on March 14th.  Even if they were able to start filming by April 1st, which is pretty unrealistic, the soonest they could probably start airing is sometime in June.  Would you like to try to get on the show?  See the schedule below.  Good luck!

How to make: A fashionable cake

The Stella McCartney ‘fruit print’ has become one of the most iconic patterns for the season, with high street brands such as Zara following suit. However, the look can be fairly difficult to pull off unless you’re a stick thin model, so we’ve found a way to get your fashion fix and your hunger fix for a fraction of the cost of a real Stella. Courtesy of Apollinas. Ingredients: Directions Heat oven to 350°F. Butter two 8?, 9? or 10? round cake pans, line the bottoms with greaseproof paper, butter again, and dust with flour, tapping out the excess. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.Using an electric mix, beat the butter and sugar on medium-high until fluffy – this will take around 2 to 3 minutes.  Mix in the grated zest of the oranges and lemons.  Beat in the vanilla, then the eggs one at a time.Reduce mixer speed to low.
