Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best? currently airs on We TV. In this week’s past episode “Kiss My Ash” Melissa and Joan deal with a lot of issues. Read what Melissa has to say straight from her blog!So I’m starting to get the hang of having Mom and me living under the same roof and it’s going OK. Seriously, it was a little rough at first but it really is getting better. I mean, really it is. I didn’t have my first glass of wine today until almost noon. Well, I’m sure it was noon somewhere.

My Mom’s new idea is she wants to get her own car so she can be independent. Hey Mom, if you want to be independent, how come you’re living in your daughter’s guest room? Anyway, if Mom does buy a car I hope it’s one of those big, wide, heavy cars that old people always feel safer in, like maybe a stretch Humvee.

I’m also thinking about learning how to cook, which is not exactly a tradition among the women in this family. In fact, the Rivers coat of arms has a Chinese take-out menu on it. And I still can’t remember if you’re supposed to pre-heat a microwave oven. But if we’re going to have these family dinners every week, like Mom wants us to, maybe I should at least learn how to, I don’t know…boil water. Or is water usually baked? Call me old-fashioned but I am so looking forward to my first cooking lesson!
