Grey’s Anatomy star Kevin McKidd has admitted that Callie will have a bit of a “meltdown” when she discovers she is pregnant.

The dark haired doctor (played by Sara Ramirez) has been broody for many months and keen to have a baby of her own. However the reality of the situation worries her and McKidd, who plays Owen on the hit medical drama, told TV Line:

“[The scenes are] dramatic and quite light. Basically it’s Callie’s moment to kind of have a meltdown.

“She hopes that Mark and Arizona can work together and she hopes that they can both be in her life, but she’s anxious. She has all these hormones flying around inside her, like pregnant woman do, so she ends up driving her OB doctor to distraction, with very funny but also touching results.”

However it’s not all bad news as McKidd promised that his on-screen wife Cristina (Sandra Oh) will continue to get better throughout the series.

“[She's back to] her old scrappy self,” he said. “She’s doing anything to trample anyone in her way to get into the OR and cut and get blood on her hands. It’s fun to see her back to her old tricks.”
