Dancing With The Stars: The Cast Talks About Love Of Country

While the Dancing with the Stars salute to America week is over, the stars’ love for America continues. After dancing patriotic numbers, many of the cast are speaking out about their love for the stars and stripes of our country, including the international cast members.

Kendra Wilkinson told People Magazine, “It’s so uplifting. It’s such an honor to be dancing to ‘Yankee Doodle Boy.’ I’m so proud. I’m such a proud American. There’s no way I could have been down tonight. I’m so happy and it was real.” Kendra and partner Louis van Amstel’s dance was the landmark 1,000th dance of the show.

“The greatest thing about America is that you really have the opportunity to decide exactly what you want to do and you can go for that and you can get it,” Kirstie Alley said. “Other places you can’t do that.”

Although Petra Nemcova is from the Czech Republic, she has a great love for the United States of America. “People in America are the most generous, the most philanthropical in the world. That makes an impact all over the world and that’s something to be proud of.”

Australian Kym Johnson boasts that her partner, Hines Ward, is the perfect vision of America. “I think my partner Hines Ward really epitomizes what America is and that’s you can be whoever you want and you have the opportunity to do that. You’ve become a football player.” Hines also reminded her that he has now become a dancer.

After saluting America, the dancers will salute guilty pleasures next week.
