Biggest Loser's gay trainers won't talk to lesbian press; NBC says interviews up to them

The Biggest Loser has diversity in sexual orientation among its trainers, and I’m not even talking about cast members’ suggestions that Bob Harper is gay. The NBC reality series now has two female trainers who are gay, or at the very least, not straight: Jillian Michaels, who came out as bisexual last year without actually calling herself bisexual, and new trainer Cara Castronuova has been in a significant relationship with a woman, MC God-des, part of the dup God-des & She: In 2008, GQ said called God-des “her partner of two years.”

But NBC “has turned down several interview requests from AfterEllen.com, and not just with Jillian, but their new trainer this season, Cara Castronuova,” the lesbian and bisexual pop culture news web site reported. Its headline asked, “Is ‘The Biggest Loser’ trying to keep their trainers in the closet?”

NBC responded via a statement to Zap2it, in which the network said that its cast members get to decide what interviews they do. “What interviews the trainers do is up to the discretion of the trainers and their personal publicists. [Approval is] based on several factors, including timing and availability,” the NBC publicist said.

How to make: A fashionable cake

The Stella McCartney ‘fruit print’ has become one of the most iconic patterns for the season, with high street brands such as Zara following suit. However, the look can be fairly difficult to pull off unless you’re a stick thin model, so we’ve found a way to get your fashion fix and your hunger fix for a fraction of the cost of a real Stella. Courtesy of Apollinas. Ingredients: Directions Heat oven to 350°F. Butter two 8?, 9? or 10? round cake pans, line the bottoms with greaseproof paper, butter again, and dust with flour, tapping out the excess. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.Using an electric mix, beat the butter and sugar on medium-high until fluffy – this will take around 2 to 3 minutes.  Mix in the grated zest of the oranges and lemons.  Beat in the vanilla, then the eggs one at a time.Reduce mixer speed to low. Add the flour mixture in 3 additions and the milk in 2 additions, beginning and ending with the flour mixtur...
