Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Weddings – Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott’s Tips to Planning the Perfect Wedding

Tori Spelling is known for throwing a good party, and now, she and hubby Dean McDermott are getting set to help eight lucky couples plan their dream weddings in their new Oxygen reality show, Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Weddings.  Ahead of the show’s season premiere, the reality TV couple has shared some simple steps to make that special day a little less stressful.

“I think finding the venue is the biggest stress,” Tori Spelling said in a recent conference call. “I think once couples have their venue they can start to visualize what their wedding will be like and what they really want. So I always encourage everyone to find their venue that they love first and get booked.”

“Then make sure that you keep it in focus that it’s for a day,” adds Dean.

As for the most important thing Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott learned throughout the planning of their own nuptials after meeting in 2005 on the set of the TV movie “Mind Over Murder,” Spelling advises couples to actually enjoy the day.

“The big thing that we learned was make the day about you because it goes in a flash,” says Tori. “And we don’t take a moment to really enjoy it and experience it with your partner. It kind of gets taken over by everyone else at the wedding.”

And Spelling made sure that all of the brides on Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Weddings took the time to take it all in.

“I would remind them right before they walked down the aisle, I’d say, ‘When you get out there take in everything. Stop for one second. See your groom. Take in the whole scene. And just make a mental picture of it and then head down the aisle,” she said.

So how have Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott managed to survive the reality TV curse and keep their marriage together?

“We just try to communicate about everything and just stay on the same page about everything. And just yes, spend time together,” says Tori.

With Dean adding, “I take any moment in time I can get with T. and just tell her how much I love her every day.”

The season premiere of Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Weddings airs Wednesday, April 6 at 10|9c on Oxygen.

How to make: A fashionable cake

The Stella McCartney ‘fruit print’ has become one of the most iconic patterns for the season, with high street brands such as Zara following suit. However, the look can be fairly difficult to pull off unless you’re a stick thin model, so we’ve found a way to get your fashion fix and your hunger fix for a fraction of the cost of a real Stella. Butter two 8?, 9? or 10? round cake pans, line the bottoms with greaseproof paper, butter again, and dust with flour, tapping out the excess.
