Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has denied rumours that he recently had plastic surgery.

Pictures were published of the star looking decidedly puffy and swollen and so called insiders claimed that Gordon has undergone a hair implant procedure, because he was paranoid about going bald.

However the dad of four told People that his “hair disaster” actually happened when he was filming his documentary about illegal shark hunting in Costa Rica.

“I had petrol doused, gasoline poured all over my hair and I had a horrific infection,” he explained.

“It certainly didn’t cause my hair to be falling out.”

And things went from bad to worse for Gordon…..he added:

“I was in Napa for Christmas literally two weeks after the shoot and went horseback riding with the kids.

“[I] had a horrendous allergic reaction to the horses, combined with the problems I had with my scalp, so it was just a hair nightmare.”

However, he insisted that he is now “all sorted out” and claimed that he is currently “60% to 70%” recovered.
