This week,  Extreme Makeover Home Edition will do a rebuild for the Graham family of Augusta Georgia. Earnie Graham gives back to the community by volunteering with the Girl Scouts of America, even as she and her children try to exist in a termite-infested home with faulty wiring and no heat. Read on for the highlights…

Earnie is at the Girl Scouts office when Ty Pennington and the Extreme Makeover Home Edition design team members surprise her with a ‘door knock’ to let her know she will be the recipient of a new home.  The team goes to check out the current house with Earnie and her children, Tiffany and Timothy. Ty tells the family they will be going to the Disneyland Resort in California for the week!

Ty contacts the Graham family in California to watch the demolition. He tells them he’s gathered the toughest women, just like Earnie, they could find. It’s all about girl power! Led by Paige Hemmis, the firefighters, police officers, and biker chicks take down the house.

Work begins on the new house. The builders comment to Ty on the extreme termite infestation in the former house.  Ty tells the design team he would also like to rebuild a cabin for the girl scouts this week, since their other one burned down.

The team heads up to Camp Tanglewood to build an extreme cabin in honor of Earnie Graham. Michael Moloney explains that they will be using 150 year-old logs and it will just be incredible.

Back at the build, Ty checks out the state-of-the-art furnace being installed, and Ed tries unsuccessfully to pull pranks on the other. Paige and Michael go appliance shopping at Sears.

Ty contacts Earnie and the kids in California to tell them there is something special to see before they see the house.

At the house, Earnie’s father is helping out, as Ty moves in a hope chest with ‘Courage Confidence Character’ engraved on the inside of the lid.

Soon, the cabin is done. Ty sends the design team to go meet Earnie and show it to her. The Graham family emerges from the limo and are shown the new Earnie Graham cabin! It’s full of colorful bunks, pillows, and a loft.  Back outside, Paige wheels up in a new Ford Explorer with a kayak on top. Camp equipment has also been donated by Ford.  Earnie gets choked up in the driver’s seat of the car.

Now it’s time for the Grahams to see their new home. They gather by the bus with the sea of volunteers, design team, and builders, and jump up and down when they get their first glimpse of the beautiful new home. The builders tell Earnie their mortgage holder is relieving her of her entire mortgage!

Ty hollers, “Go check out your new house!” They head inside and gasp at the spacious open-concept living area, dining area, and kitchen. Ty enters and tells them that Sears gave them a Kenmore kitchen. He reveals to them that their dining room table converts to a pool table because they love games.

Upstairs, Tiffany checks out her new room complete with a focus on shoes and law enforcement - her favorite things! Timothy, who was formerly sleeping on the couch, revels in his new bedroom which features practical jokes, cartoons, and his own bed! Earnie also gets a new master bedroom of her own. Ty proudly shows her the hope chest. Later, Ty shows them their new miniature golf course in the backyard! Last, Ty invites the girl scouts in with their new flavor of cookie - Extreme Graham! Ty welcomes them home.

How to make: A fashionable cake

The Stella McCartney ‘fruit print’ has become one of the most iconic patterns for the season, with high street brands such as Zara following suit. However, the look can be fairly difficult to pull off unless you’re a stick thin model, so we’ve found a way to get your fashion fix and your hunger fix for a fraction of the cost of a real Stella. Butter two 8?, 9? or 10? round cake pans, line the bottoms with greaseproof paper, butter again, and dust with flour, tapping out the excess.
