Dancing With The Stars: Judge Carrie Ann Inaba Is Engaged

While filling in for Kelly Ripa on Live with Regis and Kelly on a break from the premiere of Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba got the surprise of her life.  Her boyfriend of two years, Jesse Sloan, proposed marriage to her live on air!  Keep reading for details about the proposal and the gorgeous ring.

Sloan popped the question with the help of Regis Philbin.  Philbin read a letter on air form a man looking for ideas on how to propose to his girlfriend.  The lights dimmed and violins began to play and Sloan appeared to a shocked Inaba.  He said to Carrie Ann, “I struggle to find the words to express what you mean to me.  You’re an inspiration.  You’re everything to me.  Will you marry me?”  Carrie Ann happily accepted and her new fiance slipped the ring on her finger.

People Magazine reports that the ring is 2 1/2 carats, D-color, princess cut diamond.  While Sloan had a very clear idea of the style he wanted for his future bride, he did have some creative help from the jeweler.  Ann Mangini of Santa Monica’s Rafinity Jewelers revealed that she suggested, “Since the ring was so very simple, for a little flair, I suggested we set both his and Carrie Ann’s birthstones hidden on the inside of the ring.  It’s a Rafinity signature detail and a way to symbolically join the happy couple.”  Carrie Ann’s birthstone is garnet and Sloan’s is diamond, and both are embedded in the ring. As for nerves, Mangini revealed, “Sloan was the picture of a handsome excited-to-ask-his-girl-to-marry-him gentleman!”
