Bravo has ordered 11 new reality series, and renewed four others, including the awesome Top Chef Just Desserts. Also renewed: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (only a minor surprise here), The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Tabatha’s Salon Takeover, and whatever they will call Bethenny Frankel’s third season.
The network is also giving two of its existing stars brand-new series: Jeff Lewis’ docudrama has possibly been replaced by a new show, while Tabatha Coffey will expand her shape-whipping to non-salons.
Here are the new shows and my take on them; if you want specifics, read Bravo’s official descriptions: Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis: A show that allows Jeff Lewis to stay on the network without focusing on the drama in his personal life, and instead just gets to judge others. Flipping Out was renewed for a fifth season, but that is conspicuously absent from this press release, so I suspect that this show replaces it. We shall see.It’s a Brad Brad World: When Brad Goreski quit Rachel Zoe’s employment, I suggested that should mean the end of The Rachel Zoe Project. Since it hasn’t been renewed, that may have happened, but I also never imagined Bravo would think Brad is strong enough to power his own series. Maybe his tears could power his own turbine, but that’s about it.The Therapists: Several L.A. therapists are followed in and outside of their practices, which apparently no longer involve confidentiality. Probably will be a therapy version of Million Dollar Listing.Mad Fashion: Project Runway Chris March gets his own series now that everyone’s forgotten who he is. Pitched as the new Rachel Zoe Project since it follows him “and his eccentric crew of fashion misfits.”Million Dollar Listing NY: World of Wonder Productions will find New York-area real estate agents willing to have artificial conversations and conflict and repeat conversations for cameras.Miss Advised: A “documentary project” that follows relationship experts, a profession I did not know existed, as they attempt their own relationships.Most Eligible: Dallas: Remember Miami Social? This is the Texas version.Project Soulmate: Another matchmaking show. No mention of Millionaire Matchmaker in today’s announcement, so maybe this replaces it? Or maybe Bravo just wants to such series.Ready to Wear: A show that follows employees at a “high-end consignment shop” in New York. Could be fun if they are fun.Roble and Co.: Follows chef Roblé Ali as he creates a new catering business. Bravo does food and docudrama well, so it will be interesting to see a marriage of the two.Tabatha Takes Over: A show that stretches credibility by having Tabatha take over small businesses. She’s able to make over salons because she’s a salon owner and knows hair. However, I don’t really care about her credibility as long as she yells at people and calls them stupid, so a win for everyone.
