On Friday 13th May at 9pm the brand new second series of BIG LOVE has its UK premiere on Sky Atlantic HD.

Described as “excellent on every level” by the New York Post and “dazzling” by the Hollywood Reporter, the remarkable drama returns with a brand new 12-episode run.

Following the complicated lives of Salt Lake City polygamist Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton), his three wives and seven children, the new season opens with Bill, who owns a pair of hardware superstores, facing a personal and professional crisis following the exposure of first wife Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn) as a polygamist during a high-profile ‘Mother of the Year’ ceremony at the governor’s mansion. Picking up a few weeks after these events, the first episode, Damage Control,sees Bill’s other wives Nicki (Chloë Sevigny) and Margene (Ginnifer Goodwin) picking up the slack as Barb languishes in a melancholy slump. Meanwhile, Bill tracks down the villain responsible.

First launched in the US in 2006, Big Love quickly garnered critical praise for its refreshing handling of the taboo subject of polygamy; securing three Golden Globe® nominations for Best Television Series – Drama and eight Emmy® nominations over its 5-year run, and earning star Chloë Sevigny a Golden Globe® for best supporting actress in 2010.

Having recently completed its fifth and final season in the US, the show’s second series is completely new to UK television and will delight fans who have waited years for all-new episodes.

Captivating, intelligent and provocative, BIG LOVE is executive produced by Playtone’s Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, series creators Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer, and David Knoller. Other series regulars include Douglas Smith, Grace Zabriskie, May Kay Place, Matt Ross, Cassi Thomson.
