American Idol: Rejected Contestant Sues the Show For A Third Time!

As the season ten auditions of American Idol on FOX are now well underway, who can forget last year’s finale crasher Ian Benardo? Word has it that Bernardo, who has tried to sue the show in the past, has just filed a third lawsuit against them. Keep reading for all the crazy details!


Former American Idol contestant, Ian Benardo has made headlines in the past for filing lawsuits against the show, and recently had filed a third lawsuit against the producers according to TMZ.com. Ian Benardo is planning to sue producers as he claims they “exploited” his sexual orientation by asking him to “gay it up” on their show. This same lawsuit was filed by Ian twice and both times it was tossed out on a technicality. But this time around Ian and his attorney feel they have everything together and should have a winning case against the show.

This is not the first stunt Ian Benardo has pulled against American Idol either. Three lawsuits aside, the former contestant crashed the season finale last May when took over a farewell segment for Simon Cowell, which was supposed to include digs from former burnt contestants by grabbing the microphone and carrying on with things like “Who cares? It’s all about Ian Benardo tonight! I’m going to replace you, Simon Cowell! No one has a thing to say about you – just me.” That tirade by Ian caused the producers to shut down that segment early. Somehow, I doubt suing for a third time is going to get this guy anywhere, but we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
