American Idol: Iggy Pop Says He Was Approached By The Show To Judge This Season

Who can forget last week’s results show on American Idol on FOX that consisted of a bare chested and down right scary performance by rocker Iggy Pop? Iggy recently revealed that he was contacted by the show about the possibility of joining the judging panel this season – he can’t be serious, can he? Keep reading for more details on what Iggy Pop had to say!

American Idol witnessed one of it’s scariest performances in the show’s history last week when rock and roller Iggy Pop took the stage. As if making yourself look that ridiculous on stage isn’t enough, Iggy is now claiming that he was approached by the show to join the judging panel this season. You are probably thinking that he can’t be serious, right? Oh yes he is serious as he told Billboard that “It didn’t go very far. There were two phone calls…I wasn’t sure I was interested or available. They called me…I was curious and we spoke a couple times, and that was as far as that went. I don’t think I could’ve done the right job for them on that particular show. I think Steven Tyler does a really, really good job of it.”

Well, if that is indeed true, thank goodness he turned the job down. Iggy Pop also said he did enjoy performing at the live results show as he added “I enjoyed it. I enjoyed the band they put together for me, and they were good to work with. It was a very specific participation, very limited, and I kind of liked it that way. I went and did my thing, basically. I don’t know what to say about it, exactly, except I didn’t know what to expect, I had a good time and actually enjoyed singing the song and enjoyed the audience.” Well at least someone enjoyed it!
