It was reported by various media outlets earlier this week that Patsy Palmer was quitting EastEnders amid the cot death and baby swap storyline, however, she’s denied that’s the case.
In an interview with Hello magazine, Patsy added that she has “every intention” of returning to EastEnders after her maternity leave.
Patsy of course gave birth to her fourth child, Bertie, last November, and her exit from the show prompted the show’s writers to re-write some scenes.
However, Patsy reiterated that she hasn’t left the show and will take up a new contract with the BBC soap at some point.
She said, “I have not quit EastEnders over the current storyline as reports suggest…
“My contract came to an end soon after I gave birth to Bertie and, as I have already said, I just want to spend every minute with him.
“I love EastEnders and have every intention of returning when the time is right for me and the show.”
Bianca’s exit storyline is currently playing out on the show, and her prolonged absence will be explained when she’s imprisoned for the attack on Connor Stanley (Arinze Kene) which aired last night.
