Dancing with the Stars two-hour premiere last night was so boring just thinking about how to summarize it for this sentence makes me sleepy. Waiting two hours to watch Kirstie Alley have some fun dancing just isn’t worth it.
But not all viewers felt the same way; more tuned in during the second hour than in the first, and an average of 22.27 million people watched, making it easily the most popular show of the night. But TV By the Numbers reports that it was “down 20% from last year’s spring premiere” among adults ages 18 to 49.
That’s “the show’s lowest-rated spring premiere since Season 2 in 2006,” Deadline reports, but note that, compared with “the fall cycle’s debut, Dancing was flat” and thus just as popular.
