Former Fox American Idol contestant and country star Kellie Pickler got married this New Year’s and now we’ve got all the details on what she was wearing. See why she chose this understated Badgley Mischka gown…

Us Magazine reports season 5  American Idol contestant Kellie Pickler, 24, got married to long-time boyfriend Kyle Jacobs, 37, in the Caribbean wearing a floor-length Badgley Mischka gown.

The design team of Mark Badgley and James Mischka tells people they’ve been huge Pickler fans since seeing her perform on “Idol.”

“We think the classic ball gown silhouette is perfect for her amazing figure. And the beaded accents on the back of the tulle skirt gave her just the little amount of sparkle she was looking for,” Badgley says.

Us Magazine says the satin strapless dress had crystal beading on the train and a removable tulle skirt.

Pickler told Entertainment Tonight she loved the dress because it left enough “room to just have fun.”

According to People Magazine the couple got engaged last June after dating since 2008. Their Jan. 1 wedding was a surprise elopement to a private island.

Pickler spoke with Us Magazine in August about the engagement. She told Us she is excited to spend the rest of her life with Jacobs, saying: “I’m so excited that when I am home I get to wake up next to him because no one will love me the way that he does.”

“When two people get married, it’s not about the glamour,” Pickler told People. “It’s about the bride and groom and God.”

Looks like Pickler’s small wedding and simple, yet elegant, wedding dress kept the focus where she wanted it to be.

How to make: A fashionable cake

The Stella McCartney ‘fruit print’ has become one of the most iconic patterns for the season, with high street brands such as Zara following suit. However, the look can be fairly difficult to pull off unless you’re a stick thin model, so we’ve found a way to get your fashion fix and your hunger fix for a fraction of the cost of a real Stella.
