He may have impressed the judges and the viewers with his newfound figure skating skills on Skating With the Stars, but Jonny Moseley is first and foremost a skier. The amateur skater, but professional skier, will demonstrate his sport of choice at Squaw Valley on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe over the next several days.

As the Squaw Valley Chief Mountain Host, Jonny Moseley will join intermediate and expert skiers at the top of the Funitel at 2:00 pm on December 24 and 26 – 30 for a special mountain tour that will include a stop at Shirley Lake and skiing with the Olympic gold medalist.

Jonny has had an impressive skiing career, which started after his family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area from San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1975. He was selected to the U.S. Ski Team in 1993 and then went on to win the first two World Cup events in the 1997/1998 season.

In 1998 he went to Nagano, Japan for the Winter Olympic games and won a gold medal with his signature move, the 360 mute-grab. That same year, Jonny also won the last two events of the World Cup season, the World Cup mogul skiing title, a U.S. National title and was named Sportsman of the Year by The U.S. Olympic Committee.

In addition to these accomplishments, Jonny Moseley, competed in ESPN’s X-Games (after challenging the International Skiing Federation to allow their athletes to compete in professional events), developed the Dinner Roll (a now standard mogul trick), developed a video game, and graduated from University of California at Berkeley. Jonny, who was inducted into the U.S. National Ski hall of Fame in 2007, also has a weekly Sirius Satellite radio show.
