Adrian Chiles has been taking presenting tips from Piers Morgan.
The āDaybreakā host ā who fronts the show with Christine Bleakley ā has faced criticism for his āgrumpinessā on the morning show and admits he is aware he needs to relax more.
He said: āI donāt really do chirpiness. Christine does. I canāt bear the sight of myself in the morning. I wouldnāt want to wake up with me. Thatās the issue. My mind will wander off in the middle of a live interview. Itās horrendous.
āBut yes, Iām aware you need to look relaxed.
āPiers Morgan was really helpful. He gave me a team talk about six weeks ago at his local. He told me, āYouāve got to cheer up a bit. People donāt want to look at a grumpy bloke for two hours every morning.ā He said to take responsibility, drive the mood of it. Piers ought to be a life coach.ā
Despite acknowledging he needs to relax and be chirpier, Adrian claims there are some basic problems with the set which prevent him from doing so.
He told Live magazine: āIāve got to get a decent sofa. Iām not comfortable in my skin anyway but you canāt sit back on it, you canāt sit upright on it, you canāt lean anywhere on it. Thatās pretty fundamental. And I need to go back to wearing a suit. The jumper makes me look and feel like an unmade bed.ā
