The Bachelorette: Former Contestant Rescues Lost Snowboarder

Season four Bachelorette winner, Jesse Csincsak, might not have been able to save his relationship with Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas, but he was able to rescue a stranded snowboarder in Vail, Colorado. Read more to find out how Csincsak saved the day…

Snowboarder Thomas Pazerunas was hopelessly lost. According to Denver Colorado station KUSA, the 24-year-old vacationer found himself trudging through ten foot deep snow more than 10 miles from civilization. With no cell phone service and no idea where to go, Pazerunas trekked on aimlessly in the hopes of finding his friends.

“I thought if I just kept going to the right where I last saw my friends, I thought I would eventually run into a chair lift and some friendly faces,” Pazerunas said.

Pazerunas told KUSA he never found the chair lift, but did run into some friendly faces–a group of snowmobilers with one recognizably off the television screen.

KUSA reports pro snowboarder and reality contestant Csincsak and his group were snowmobiling in a remote part of Vail Pass where they usually don’t go when they spotted Pazerunas.

“He was 12 miles from anything that was civilized, so think about how long it would take for you to walk on concrete 12 miles - let alone in deep snow,” Csincsak said.

Pazerunas said he’s lucky Csincsak came along at the right time, otherwise he probably wouldn’t have been found.

“I would have no way of contacting anybody. No way of knowing where I was. The nearest help would have been miles and miles away,” he said. “With no cell service it would have been an act of God.”

KUSA says Pazerunas got lost while snowboarding, accidentally heading out of bounds and down the opposite side of the mountain. Pazerunas said he’ll come back to snowboard in Colorado, but make sure to avoid the back trails next time.
