Natalie Cassidy will return to ‘EastEnders’ in the new year it has been revealed.
The 27-year-old actress – who is best known as Sonia Fowler in the BBC One soap – will come back to Walford when her charcater’s half-sister Bianca goes missing, and the entire family tries to find the feisty redhead.
With bolshie Bianca set to flee Albert Square after a “huge confrontation”, Sonia will shock her family when she reveals she knows where her sister is.
An insider explained: “True to form, Bianca has got herself in big trouble while trying to protect her family and, scared about what might happen, she does a runner.
“Sonia then turns up unannounced and drops the bombshell that she knows where Bianca is and what she is going to do next.”
However, Sonia’s arrival back on the Square will also mark the revelation of a number of saucy secrets she and husband Martin (James Alexandrou) had been hiding since they left the soap in 2007.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: “While Sonia is there other truths will start to surface and viewers will find out what she and her husband Martin have been up to.”
