Graeme Hawley has fast action planned for tonight’s Coronation Street live show

December 9th, 2010 by Lisa McGarry. No comments

Graeme Hawley is worried about dashing from scene to scene in Coronation Street’s live episode tonight.

The actor – who plays John Stape in the ITV1 soap – will be seen rushing to hide the dying body of his secret accomplice Charlotte (Becky Hindley), who he brutally attacked with a hammer on Monday (06.12.10).

Graeme explained: “I’ve got to sprint so fast from scene to scene that I’ve asked them to beef up my shoes with special grips because I’m worried about slipping over.

“In one scene I’m in the alley, and exactly one minute and forty seconds later I’m due inside the Stape’s house. They are filmed on two completely different sets.

“I timed it the other day and it took me one minute and thirty seconds to run from one to the other at full speed, which only gives me ten seconds to spare.

“The worst thing is that on screen it only looks like I’ve done a six foot walk so I’m not supposed to be out of breath, I’m not sure how I’m going to cover that up.”

John is also looking forward to being able to cut his hair after show, as he’s been forbidden from changing his appearance since the cast filmed the show’s devastating tram crash.

He added to the Daily Mail newspaper: “We’ve not been allowed to cut our hair, lose weight or put on weight. The morning of the live episode they are going to get pictures of how we looked when the tram crashed in order to get our hair exactly the same.”
