Fears Al Qaeda may target Coronation Street’s live episode!

The Sun today reports that police in Manchester are at a heightened level of security ahead of tonight’s live episode of Corrie amid fears terrorist group Al Qaeda may target the show.

The paper reports that police were “tipped off” that the group may target the show’s 50th anniversary live broadcast, and it seems they’re taking the possibility seriously…

Coronation Street cast and crew will apparently be searched today as they arrive at the studios, and airport style scanners will be used as part of extensive searches of the set and outlying buildings.
