Coronation Street’s Tyrone Dobbs will be seen punching Kevin Webster at wife Molly’s funeral tonight, after Sally reveals that his best friend is the real father of baby Jack.
The mechanic – played by Alan Halsall – has been left devastated after his wife died in last week’s tram crash, and his grief has been heightened by the knowledge that baby Jack was not really his.
However, shortly before Molly (Vicky Binns) died she told Kevin’s wife Sally (Sally Dynevor) he was the father, and after Tyrone sees them arguing at Molly’s funeral he soon works out Kevin (Michael Le Vell) is the dad.
A show insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Viewers have been wondering how Tyrone would discover the truth for months and the fight at Molly’s funeral is suitably dramatic. The scenes are very intense and believable, in fact poor Michael gets a real pummelling, but he and Alan had a laugh about it later.
“This has been one of the biggest storylines, so the drama was always going to be intense. But the producers have pulled out all the stops for this.”
The scenes will be shown on ITV1 tonight.
