Author and celebrity chef Curtis Stone may be busy traveling and settling in to his new home, but he still made time to talk to RTVM about his experience on Celebrity Apprentice, and tell us what he thinks about the competition on this season of NBC’s The Apprentice.

While hanging out at the new Continental Chase VIP Lounge at The Mall at Short Hills in New Jersey, Curtis Stone dished about all things Apprentice.

Though he admits that he hasn’t caught much of this season, Stone did happen to catch a few of the earlier episodes.

“They got nasty. It was a whole different ball game,” Stone said, agreeing that this season’s cast put poker player Annie Duke to shame. “I thought Sharon Osbourne and Cyndi Lauper were a handful, but these guys were at each others’ throats.”

When asked how he was able to escape the usual reality show drama and cat fights, Stone admitted that it was difficult, but credited his work in restaurants as the best training: “Working in a kitchen all day, you develop a think skin, so you get quite used to people telling it how it is, so nothing [that happened in the Board Room] really fazed me too much.”

Overall, Stone says of his time on the Apprentice, “It was a really nice experience–one I was a little bit nervous about, then when I got there it was just like playing a game every day. It was a lot of fun. Donald Trump is on another level.”

Part One of the season finale of The Apprentice airs Thursday at 10|9c on NBC.

How to make: A fashionable cake

The Stella McCartney ‘fruit print’ has become one of the most iconic patterns for the season, with high street brands such as Zara following suit. However, the look can be fairly difficult to pull off unless you’re a stick thin model, so we’ve found a way to get your fashion fix and your hunger fix for a fraction of the cost of a real Stella. Butter two 8?, 9? or 10? round cake pans, line the bottoms with greaseproof paper, butter again, and dust with flour, tapping out the excess.
