It has been a whirlwind year for FOX American Idol alum, Carrie Underwood. After winning Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, Country Music Association awards, and sweeping all six categories in which she was nominated in the first ever American Country Awards, now Underwood is celebrating another nomination–for a Golden Globe! Read on for all the details on Carrie Underwood’s Golden Globe nomination.

There’s no denying that Carrie Underwood is the most successful artist to ever come out of American Idol–so far. She’s topped the charts, won numerous awards (including 6 at the first American Country Awards), sold out tours, and now, she can add a Golden Globe nomination to her long list of accomplishments.

Underwood has been nominated for her work on “There’s A Place For Us,” the theme song from Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of Dawn Treader. Carrie co-wrote the music and lyrics for the song along with David Hogues.

Hogues has also worked with Idols Kelly Clarkson, David Archuleta, and Daughtry, in addition to working with Carrie on many other projects.

So, what did Carrie Underwood have to say about her nomination?

“I am absolutely thrilled by this wonderful honor today,” said Carrie. “It was such an exciting endeavor to have been asked to create music for the film. I grew up with the books and have been a fan of the earlier two movies. I can’t wait for the Golden Globes!”

Neither can we!
