Mom of 19 and grandmother of 1 (with another on the way), Michelle Duggar of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting talks about why she recently jumped out of a plane, and reveals the family’s Thanksgiving tradition. Read on for all the details.

Michelle Duggar recently jumped out of a plane, and no–it wasn’t because she just realized that she has 19 children.

The 44-year-old mom and star of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting did it to honor her daughter Jessa’s  birthday request.

“She wanted to jump out of a plane,” says Michelle of daughter Jessa, who turned 18 on November 4th. “And the last time everyone went, she was too young to go, and I was pregnant and couldn’t go.”

After making the leap, Michelle is a fan!

“It was one of the most amazing experiences,” Michelle says. “You step through the door of the plane, and then your stomach falls. When the parachute comes out, it is so peaceful. We are out in the Ozarks, and it is autumn. It is beautiful.” She adds, “It was a wonderful mom-and-daughter moment.”

And with Jessa’s birthday done, next on the list for Jim Bob and Michelle is tackling Thanksgiving for the entire family, which includes son Josh and his wife Anna, who’ve announced that they are expecting their second child in June of 2011.

The Duggars reveal that they have a special tradition for the holiday, in which each member of the family has to share one thing that they’re thankful for before starting the meal.

“We go around the table, from the youngest to the oldest, to say one thing,” says Michelle. “You can’t repeat what someone else has said they are thankful for, so it gets harder the longer it goes around.”

The Duggars will return to TV in an upcoming special 19 Kids and Counting: GrandDuggar First Birthday on Sunday, November 14th at 8pm on TLC.

How to make: A fashionable cake

The Stella McCartney ‘fruit print’ has become one of the most iconic patterns for the season, with high street brands such as Zara following suit. However, the look can be fairly difficult to pull off unless you’re a stick thin model, so we’ve found a way to get your fashion fix and your hunger fix for a fraction of the cost of a real Stella. Butter two 8?, 9? or 10? round cake pans, line the bottoms with greaseproof paper, butter again, and dust with flour, tapping out the excess. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.Using an electric mix, beat the butter and sugar on medium-high until fluffy – this will take around 2 to 3 minutes.  Mix in the grated zest of the oranges and lemons.  Beat in the vanilla, then the eggs one at a time.Reduce mixer speed to low.
